Flax Pullover

I finally finished my Flax Pullover after one year of working on it. I'm glad and happy with the final result, the fit is good, loose, and comfy. I started this pullover on January 21 last year, I used acrylic and rayon blend yarn from the local shop. At first, I wasn't sure about the yarn because I didn't really like acrylic but the color is so pretty, so I bought the pack (8 balls of yarns). For the pattern, I used a free pattern from Tin Can Knits  link here , and my plan was to make the green pullover version the one that the model is wearing in the picture below.  I used size ML because I wanted a little loose and made the sleeves plain using stockinette stitch only. My progress was very slow, I was knitting a few rows in my free time especially at night after dinner or after I put my son to the bed.  The instructions were easy to follow and I was enjoying the progress, also I was lucky I found a Youtube channel that explain m...

Hand-knitted Eyelet Sweater

I started this sweater in May last year, it was very slow progress with a lot of errors. I unraveled the sweater three times but in the end, I'm happy with the final result. I posted the journey of making it on my  Instagram  , so I'm not going to show the photos again in the blog. The original plan was to knit a simple eyelet sweater, square bodice and drop shoulder but in the end, I changed my mind and knit a seamless bottom-up sweater with decorative eyelets. For the yarn I used Linie 152, Paloma, in orchid color and pattern was my own. I used 2.5 mm and 3 mm circular needles.

2019 Make Nine Round-Up

Happy New Year everyone. I decided to write a blog post after a long silence, last year wasn't a good year for me for blogging. I was too busy with other things in life, lost my mojo on writing but I managed to sew some garments. Hope this year will be better and my mojo will be back and I can manage a good balance between sewing and blogging. I'd love to focus on sewing basic wears and replacing the old garments that don't fit me. Also, I'd love to knit some tops and sew some undies and active wears. I have too many plans on my head and I think I should write them down and will let you know later. For today, I'm sharing three last garments that I sewed and knitted for 2019 Make Nine challenge that I participated on Instagram.

2018 Make Nine Round Up

Happy New Year 2019 to all fellow sewists and followers. I've been away for a while, busy with a lot of good things but still sewing and knitting. Hope all of you had a lovely time as much as I did. And today, I decided to share my 2018 Make Nine round up. I didn't complete the nine garments that I was planning but glad I finished six garments and one in progress.

Hand Knitted Cardigan

I am participating some challenges in Instagram this year, one of them is  #2018makenine  hosted by  Rochelle New  and glad I finished my first garment that I worked since January. For the pattern, I decided to chose free pattern -  Estuary  v-neck cardigan size 36 that I found in Ravelry. The cardigan has a simple stockinette stitch for the bodice and sleeve, 2x2 rib for the sleeve and hem bands and 1x1 rib for front/neckline band. I skip the colour block style and use one colour only because I have enough amount of yarns in my stash and as promised I wouldn't buy new yarns this year except when I am on travel 😁

Hand Knit Cable Hats And Cowl

Hello.. Hope you all have a happy sewing and crafting :) Today, I'd love to show you the two finished cable hats and small cowl that I worked for so many months, especially the cowl - I started to knit in November 2016 and I forgot when exactly finished. The two hats were made in the beginning of January, but they finished faster than I thought - I did both of them in less than three weeks :)

Drop-Shoulder Pullover

Hello, Belated Merry Christmas to all friends! Hope you had a great Christmas celebration and happy holidays. I am back after a long silence with brand new hand knit pullover that I knitted for three and half months :) I took so long to finish because I only knit 10 rows per night while I am relaxing in front of the television :) Pattern: Drop-Shoulder Pullover - Designer Knitting magazine early winter 2015 size S. Needles: 3 and 4 mm circular needles. Yarn: eight skeins - 1720 m of "Blue Jeans'' indigo dye cotton and acrylic yarn in green colour, I never heard about this yarn until I visited Dongdaemun market in Seoul, South Korea. The most I like about this pullover is the elongated sleeves with thumb openings, as shown in the picture below. It feels so good and warm, I don't need to wear gloves or mitts to keep my hands warm :) My Final pullover looks a little bit different than the original pattern. I made the turtleneck smaller and the finished he...

Hand Knit Boy's Scarf

Hello friends, I knitted a scarf for my dear son and so glad that I managed to take picture of him wearing it :) The scarf is self-pattern and the size is 50" length x 5'' width. I mentioned lately that I've been knitting and I agree that knitting is a great activity as well as sewing. And speaking about sewing, I am still in progress of pants making. I changed the pattern two times, two muslins, one unsuccessful pants and another pants waiting to finish. I will explain more in the next post. Well, for now let's talk about the knit scarf. I visited my local yarn shop in the beginning of January and brought home three types of yarns in different colours and brands. Then I decided to use my first choice - Schachenmayr Bravo in dark grey to make my son scarf. I think it isn't the best yarn to make scarf because it is an acrylic yarn but still can pamper the neck in the cold winter weather :) Materials: 1.5 skeins of Schachenmayr Bravo  color 08319 - dar...

Hand Knit Bobble Hat

Hi, I have been very enthusiastic with knitting lately and so glad I managed to finish my first bobble hat right on time when the weather is getting cold :) I found a free pattern and tutorial from Mollie Makes - Bobble Hat  and it was easy to follow. The original hat is lovely, it comes with smaller width 2x2 ribbing and continue with stockinette stitch. As I am learning new stitches and eager to try, I added different type of stitches for the body that I found in Creative Knitting magazine autumn 2015. Materials: I used 150 yards of  Zarone - Filatura Di Crosa Italia - pure wool blend in shade 37.  Circular needle 7 mm - 40 cm Tapestry needle Scissor Knitting process started from cast on 56 sts and join the round, continue with 2x2 ribbing, k2-p2 until the stitches measure 2.5". After that, I did stockinette stitches 5 rounds, then added k1,p1 in one round and p1,k1 in another round.  Back again to stockinette...

Seed Stitch Cowl

Hello, I finished my second cowl! It was a very slow work but I am happy with how it turned out :) As I mentioned on  my last facebook post , I have to start the new cowl because my first one went wrong. I didn't throw the yarn but I removed the stitch and rolled again for other purpose. Well, before I explain more, here I am wearing it with my yellow sweatshirt . Once again only for the photos :) Finally the weather is getting colder but not yet cold enough to wear a very warm cowl. Materials: 4 balls yarns, 2 in white and 2 in light cream. Both are pure new wool Circular needle size 7 mm Tapestry needle Pattern: Seed Stitch Cowl with Stefanie Japel  Shown here on the video The cowl was using double stranded, Cast on 101 STS and join to work in the round. Round 1: *K1,P1*K1 Round 2: *P1,K1*P1 Repeat rounds 1 and 2 until the size I want Bind Off in seed stitch and weave in ends. Done! Here is my process, it was a very slow work and I don't remember ...

First Knitting Project - Infinity Scarf

Hello... Hope you all have a lovely weekend! I wanted to know how to knit since a long time but only last month I decided to buy knitting kits and learning how to knit. Also, I bought knitting magazine in August and read some techniques but I was confused. Then I went to YouTube to watch some lessons and so happy that I got it :) As I am a beginner knitter, I just want to try something simple and suitable for my level. So, I knit an infinity scarf. I didn't follow any pattern but just knit in circular needle and here is the result, Knitting Process: I did my first exercise Garter Stitch in the two balls of very cheap wool yarns that I bought in my local Japanese shop, followed easy video tutorial from  Studio Knit . And here is my result, After I did Garter Stitch, I am curious about Stockinette Stitch, they look so nice for scarf but I had a problem that they were curling during the process. Then I found another tip that I should stitch borders around them to avoid c...
