Me Made May Day 8-14

As promised in my previous post, here is my recap of Me Made May 2022 challenge day 8-14. So far, I didn't find any difficulty to choose and match the outfit during the challenge. Some of my makes are getting old and I think I should replace them. Besides analyzing my wardrobe, I'm enjoying the challenge and noting inspirations for my future makes.  Well, at the moment my sewjo is low and I hope it will come back soon because I have a few garments waiting for me to finish. them. Day 8. I was wearing me-made button-down dress in Jijake fabric and I used Burdastyle pattern (modified). The picture was taken inside Mandarin house, a historic residential house in Sao Lourenco. This dress was too tight last year and I solved the issue by adding a band on both sides but now is too big, so I need the reduce the sides again 😀 Day 9. I was wearing a repeated pinafore denim dress from last week, a self-drafted blue t-shirt and a me-made tote bag. I was exploring t...

DIY Denim Pants

Hello, I was planning to make a basic outfit (long sleeve t-shirt and denim pants) in February and I managed to finish the long sleeve t-shirt on time. I posted the detail on my IG,  here is the link  in case you are interested to see it.  After waiting for almost one and a half months, I finally finished the denim pants. Too bad that the weather is getting hot, so I will wear them in cooler weather. Both the long sleeve t-shirt and denim pants were my entry to "Fit February"  #magamsewalong  challenge on Instagram hosted by Sue, Suzy and Sheila. I'm happy I finally finished the outfit that fit my daily life. Here is the fabric I used for the denim pants, a medium-weight denim fabric that I bought during my trip to Bangkok in 2018, I bought 3 meters and still have leftover enough to make a skirt. Also, I used green cotton scrap for the pocket bags. The rest of the materials, zipper, snap fastener, fastener and threads were from my stash. ...

October Makes

October was a good month for me, I finally managed to draft my basic pants pattern and made two pairs to wear daily. Also, I made a new t-shirt in red color, refashioned my dress that I don't like into a skirt and altered a few old makes (denim pants and long sleeves dress) and rtw swimsuit. I posted them all on my Instagram,  here is the link  in case you are interested to see them.  For today, I'm going to show you the journey of making my own pants. I was supposed to make these pants in September for my entry to #sewyourwardrobebasics challenge but I was so busy and couldn't make them on time. And as the October theme was knit, I decided to make a t-shirt to wear with my loose pants. I was happy that I completed the two garments and wore the outfit last week.  The progress of making the pants started with drafting the pattern, I followed the tutorial from an Indonesian sewist on Youtube Nina Modes. Here is the look of my basic pants pattern, back and front...
