Velvet Ribbon

I made a polka dot dress with an a-line skirt last month but it didn't turn out as my plan, so I decided to refashion it into a top with a ruffle peplum. Firstly, I removed the zipper and the skirt. I used the bodices, cut the skirt fabric for the ruffle peplum and kept the rest of the fabric for future make.  For the pattern, I used my self-drafted tank dress with the addition of darts. I made two tank dresses before, the first  and  the second  versions in case you wanted to see them.  The fabric I used: cotton viscose polka dot from the local shop. The collage below was the process of sewing the front bodice. I did the same for the back bodice except inserted the rings to connect the ties later. After I cut the pieces for the ruffle peplum, I gathered it using big stitches with my sewing machine, pulled the thread and attached the fabric to the bodice right sides together. Hi fellow sewists, I mentioned in my  Instagram post  two weeks ago that I finished the boucle jacket but I postponed my blog post because I wanted to make a new high neck top to wear with it as the model wearing in the picture below. Both garments are my entry to  #magamsewalong  October and November "Seasonal Stashbuster" hosted by  Sarah Liz . The boucle and brown colour silk satin lining fabrics were inside stash for ages and I bought the grey knit jersey last year.

Hi everyone, Don't get surprised with the amount of tops I made lately. I made five! Yes, I need them all to wear during summer :) I was lucky to have all the fabrics inside stash, most of them are the leftover from previous garments. Before I show you the pattern and detail, let's take a look of the finished tops. I love them all, they are really comfy and easy to wear with anything. The fabric are all one meter of knits, knit cotton (red, black, yellow and emerald blue) and denim jersey knit. I used  BurdaStyle Triangle Cutout Dress  pattern to make this top. I cut the length right in my hips, skip the triangle cutout and lower the neckline 3 cm. Except the one with denim jersey knit, the neckline is just like the original pattern. Also, I used 1 cm seam allowances in all edges and 1.5 cm hem allowance. The sewing process was very fast, I did each top in two hours including cutting the fabric. Hi everyone, Finally I finished my pants and decided to sew a top to wear with it. Both patterns are from Simplicity, Misses pants 6231 size 36 and New Look 6225 size 34 with my own modification. The top has round neck and raglan sleeve and the pants has side zipper, front and back darts with 3 cm waistband. Pattern and adjustment: Top :  New Look 6225 B  size 34 with adjustment based on  my first top  but this time I skip the dart and lengthen the sleeve until my wrist. Pants :  Simplicity Misses Pants 6231  size 36 with adjustment based on my muslin. Make smaller waistband, 3 cm wide. Shorten the crotch depth in both front and back pieces 3 cm. Reduced the length at the knee area 8 cm in both front and back pieces. Reduced the sides 2 cm, I think in this case I should size down the pattern to 34. Added front darts, 9 cm from center front, 1.5 wide with 12 cm long. Finished with hem allowance 3 cm. Materials: 2 yards of woven fabric...

Hello.. I made a new sweater based on Burda Easy A/W 2013 pattern 6B :) This sweater is one of the garments that I plan for MAGAM November challenge, the plan was posted here in  my facebook page . The weather is still hot but I think it will be going down soon, so once again I am wearing it just to take pictures :) I love how the sweater turned out, it is very cosy, soft and warm at the same time. Besides that, I love the colours. Grey and black matched well with each other. What do you think? Materials: I used 2 yards of ponte de roma knit in grey colour and cotton ribbed knit for the bands. Three black buttons, two snap fasteners, fusible interfacing and thread. Pattern: Burda Easy Autumn Winter 2013, sweater 6 B size 34/36.
