BurdaStyle 03/2013 Issue

Happy Easter to you all! May this Easter be your happiest celebration ever! Today post is about new sewing pattern from BurdaStyle magazine March 2013 issue. I found the magazine when I was on short vacation in Bangkok-Thailand. And here are my favorite sewing patterns that I am going to work on the future project: ribbon dress

Floral Dress

front dress This dress is my second project from Burdastyle Sewing Vintage Modern Book . I used master pattern  Elizabeth Gathered-Waist Dress for the dress bodice and instead of using straight gathered-skirt that the original pattern had, I used my self-drafted semi-pleated skirt pattern. The dress has square front and back neckline, side line zipper and finished the hem with hand sew. Materials: 2 yards of Japanese cotton voile, white cotton for lining, lightweight fusible interfacing, invisible zipper and same color thread. Pattern modifications: Front bodice: I altered the front neckline a little bit deeper, I also reduced the armhole a little bit smaller than the original pattern. Back bodice: I changed the back neckline to a square style, I also reduced the armhole a little bit smaller than the original pattern. Here are the drawing of pattern modifications for the bodice front and back with measurement, And here is the full drawing of the dress,     How
