Hi there, I made this v-neck batik dress to wear on the holiday in Bali and I was happy with the final result. I made a few v-neck dresses before and this time I decided to add the front tie. The rest of the dress was the same with short sleeves and knee length. I chose a simple design because I wanted to show the beautiful batik print and I was glad after pinning and measuring, I managed to match the print. The front tie added sweetness to a simple dress and I'm planning to use this method for my next makes, maybe a top or another dress. For the pattern: I used self-drafted. And the fabric: I used a batik fabric (cotton) a gift from my family two years ago.    For the ties, I cut 2 pieces (45 cm x 3.5 cm). Hi there, today I'm making a test to share my Youtube video on this blog. It's about the making of my two dresses that I wore during the Easter holiday and a bit of our life during that week. 🔹️ The green batik dress. Fabric: I used an Indonesian batik from my stash. Pattern: self-drafted and I made a few dresses using this pattern before. This dress has sleeveless, no zipper, a loose and knee length.  🔹️ Ruffle hem gingham dress. Fabric: I used gingham cotton fabric from my stash. Pattern: self-drafted. This dress has v-neckline (front and back), no zipper, ruffle hem and a little bow at the front neckline. We were attending a gender reveal and birthday party last Saturday and the theme was to wear a kebaya outfit, pink and blue colors. I went with pink because I think my friend will have a baby girl and I was right. We are all very happy for her and her husband. Such a happy occasion 💗 After a few days of thinking and planning, I decided to wear an a-line batik dress with a kebaya over it. I drafted the original style kebaya pattern from Indonesia with front plackets and a long pointy hem but unlucky for me, the style of the original kebaya will not be good with my a-line dress. So, I shortened the length of the kebaya pattern, I marked it 3 cm below my waistline, and made a new line of the hemline. And for my husband, I made a striped shirt using the Ottobre Design pattern 07/2017 and for the fabric, I was happy to find a nice shade of maroon color with a little hint of dark pink striped cotton blend fabric in the local shop.  More photos of my husband's shirt are on my IG,...

I finally finished my UFO from March, I'm so glad. My first plan was to make a blouse but I changed my mind the day I cut the fabric, I saw the border print and I felt terrible if I didn't use it. So, I lengthened the pattern down until my knee. And to make the shirtdress more stylish, I sewed a black slipdress to wear under it. In this case, I skip the buttons and let the dress open. I love the look and I will wear this set more often for sure.  I used Norma blouse Ottobre design pattern S/S 02/2018 size 38, lengthened the hem until my knee, omitted the buttons, shortened the sleeves and made a full arm adjustment.  And for the fabric, I used Indonesian batik in red, a gift from a friend for my birthday last year.  The process of making this dress was lovely and relaxing, I started it in March and then I stopped.
