Floral Puff Sleeve Dress

Hi friends, happy weekend. I'm showing you my new make, a floral puff sleeve dress for my entry to  #magamsewalong  "Jamboree June" challenge on Instagram hosted by Sue, Suzy and Whendy. My plan was to make a special and feminine dress to wear for a dinner out with my family or a staycation in the local hotel later in the summer holiday. For the fabric, I used a floral rayon crepe from my stash and for the pattern, I used a Burdastyle dress with puff sleeves and a front gathering pattern from 03/2013 edition size 38. I didn't have enough fabric for the whole dress, so I made an adjustment to the pattern by reducing the size of the skirt. Here is the look of my pattern after I traced it, I reduced the sides of the skirt at the bottom 13 cm and then drew a new line to the upper skirt. After I double-check the sizing, I found out that the bodices were too long for me. So I reduced 3.5 cm at the waistline. I marked it and fo...

Boy's Raglan Sleeve Tops

Hello fellow sewists, Today I want to show you the finished three tops that I made especially for dear son. The reason why I decided to make them instead of buying in the shop was because I want to use my stash fabrics, scraps and garments to refashion. Besides, I want to follow my 2018 sewing plans to reduce stash and to reuse previous garments that are still okay.

DIY Jeans And White Cotton Blouse

Hello everyone, I made a new outfit and these garments are my entry for  #magamsewalong  October and November. My plan for October Original was a self-drafted skirt and white blouse in the picture below, the skirt turned out fine but I'd love to make adjustment next time. So, I will post the skirt detail separately later. For November Needs, I was planning to make jeans and bought two pieces of jeans fabrics in dark blue and black. I decided to sew the blue colour first as wearable muslin but in the end I like the result and I am in the middle of finishing the black one but no time to complete this month, so I will continue next month. Coincidentally the jeans and white blouse are lovely match, so I just wear it together 😁 Patterns: I modified both blouse and pants patterns to my liking  Burdastyle Shirt Blouse 03/2013  size 36  and  Burdastyle Straight Pants 10/2013  size 36.

So, I will give you a link on my IG in case you want to see the dress  Open Back Butterick Dress .

Magam May: BurdaStyle Outfit # Monotone

Hi everyone.. I finished my  MAGAM May outfit with the theme "Monotone". After searched my stash and double checked my wardrobe, I decided to make wearable garments that  suits hot summer weather. And here is my final outfit, high-waist skirt and sleeveless top, Pattern : BurdaStyle Ribbon Dress 03/2013   size 34. I hacked the dress pattern to separate pattern. I just pass over the darts and make it as a loose bodi...

Button Down Shirt Dress

Hello.. I was planning to make this shirt dress for 13th April  Share In Style  with the topic "Your Own Style". But for some reason I only finished yesterday. This dress has short sleeves, button down, knee length and easy to wear with or without belt. Pattern: Based on BurdaStyle pattern Shirt Blouse 03/2013 size 36. To make a dress out of a shirt pattern, I lengthen the shirt hem until my knee. I also cut the sleeves length, from 3/4 sleeves to a short sleeves 16 cm long. Added 1.5 cm seam allowances in all edges and 3 cm hem allowance. Materials: 2 yards of printed rayon, bias tape, 10 small black buttons, fusible interfacing for the collar and thread Beside all the pattern modification above, I also added 4 cm in the center back at the neckline. I pleated the center back, sew it down 10 cm and leave the rest as it is. I added this method to allow my dress flown nicely without feeling too tight. I sew the colla...
