Velvet Ribbon

I have been planning to make a casual jacket since last year and I'm glad I finally made it. I love the final result, easy to wear and comfortable. Spring is finally here and this jacket is perfect to wear. For the pattern, I used Burdastyle jacket 01/2023, my dear SIL gave me the magazine pattern and I was thrilled, so many lovely patterns that I'd love to make.  The original jacket was using wool fabric with the lining but I used double-knit fabric and facings. Also, the jacket has in-seam pockets and is finished with a front zipper. Simple design which I really love. The sewing progress was easier than I thought, so I will be making the original version with the wool fabric and fully lining later to wear in the winter.    Sewing the in-seam pockets was a little trickier, I removed and sewed them again twice until I get right. Hello, as promised here is my late update of Me-Made-May challenge for day 25-31. I was busy and didn't have time to update this blog but good thing I'm still sewing and knitting a little a day. The situation in Macau is terrible at the moment because of covid-19, many local cases and we are on lockdown. Hope this pandemic will end soon and we will go back to our normal life. Hi all, May was a great month for home sewists like me because of Me Made May 2022 and I decided to continue to show you what I was wearing during the challenge. Today's post is the recap for day 15-24 and as usual, I was wearing my basic garments. Nothing fancy but they are wearable, easy and suitable for my daily life.  Day 15. I finally finished my Flax Pullover after one year of working on it. I'm glad and happy with the final result, the fit is good, loose, and comfy. I started this pullover on January 21 last year, I used acrylic and rayon blend yarn from the local shop. At first, I wasn't sure about the yarn because I didn't really like acrylic but the color is so pretty, so I bought the pack (8 balls of yarns). For the pattern, I used a free pattern from Tin Can Knits  link here , and my plan was to make the green pullover version the one that the model is wearing in the picture below.  I used size ML because I wanted a little loose and made the sleeves plain using stockinette stitch only. Hello, I finished my pinafore dress at the right time when the winter arrived. For the pattern, I modified my basic dress sloper block and I used a wool blend fabric and a silk satin in black for the lining. I was planning to sew this dress for so long from the beginning of the year and I'm happy that I finally made it in December.  Also, this dress in my late entry to  #sewyourwardrobebasics  challenge with the theme "wool" hosted by  @seaofteal .  The dress detail: knee length pinafore dress with a deep front v-neckline, a scoop back neckline, front side darts, back middle darts, invisible zipper at the center back and fully lined.
