Finished October MAGAM Outfit

Hello... I made this outfit after finishing my second version of New Look 6225. The idea came up suddenly when I realized that I didn't make any plans for October MAGAM Challenge. As I only have a little time to finish it, I chose this outfit to work with. And luckily the outfit was completed before the end of October but to publish it here took me more time :) Materials: For the top - I used 1.5 yards of printed chiffon and black thread. For the skirt - I used 1.5 yards of linen in black color, fusible interfacing, invisible zipper and black thread. Patterns And Alterations: For the top - I used Simplicity  New Look 6225 B  size 34.  You can see my first and second version here . I made the top length a little bit shorter and the neckline not so high than the two previous  tops. For the skirt, I used Burdastyle Tie Skirt 08/2012 # 134 size 36 but I omitted the tie. You can see my first version of this skirt here. I made the skirt length ...

Finished Magam June Outfit

Hello everyone, Sorry for my late post! Here is my June  MAGAM outfit based on Burdastyle patterns.. T-shirt details, Simple style t-shirt, nothing fancy but perfect for everyday wear.   Pattern and modification: For the pattern, I used Burda t-shirt pattern 06/2008 - 113 size 34. You can check out my first version here.   As you all see that my first version was fine but I am not so happy with how the neckline turned out, so I decided to raise the front neckline 2 cm and I used smaller neckband 1 cm.   Materials: 1.5 yards of knit cotton in white color, stay tape for the shoulder lines, and white color thread.   For the sewing process, you all can see here in  my first version . But I omitted the contrast stitching and made the neckband smaller. And  I think that the neckband turned out well :-) Here are the pictures of the t-shirt - front and back views,     Skirt details, Very cute and girl...

Burda Sew Along: Light Cowl Top 01/2013 And Tie Skirt 08/2012

Burdastyle outfit I am joining Modern Vintage Cupcakes   and The Curious Kiwi  in a sew along, Wellington Sewing Bloggers Network (WSBN) Burda Magazine Sew Along. I've been working with Burdastyle pattern and I love them so much. So, why I don't join! Well, my first project for the sew along is Light Cowl Top from Burda magazine 01/2013. A friend of mine brought me the magazine from Portugal. Here are more details of the top: Materials: I used the left over printed silk rayon fabric from  Color Block Dress and same color of thread. No zipper or even button for this top. It was very easy project. Pattern modifications: as I mentioned above, I used Light Cowl Top  pattern size 34. I measure the length of the top about 14 cm under my waist. I added 1" on the body side because I had a bigger waist than the original pattern (I had size 38 for my waist). Also, I made a bigger back neck about 1/2'' and replaced the facing strip for the b...

High Waist Skirt #1

This skirt basic on burda magazine 07/2008 in Spanish edition. I made some change on the waist line and front skirt pleat. The original skirt look really nice in the picture, but not really nice on me. That's why I made some change on it. I made muslin first for this skirt with the original pattern. But the front skirt pleat do not fit well on me, and then i try to pleat it inside. Wow! look like a magic, my skirt turn out perfect! For the waist line, I just made a very simple straight waist line 8 cm on the fold. End up with the 2 buttons on the back side of the skirt. Before I continue the making of my skirt, this is the original pattern that I use: I used kind of twill flannel brown colour to make this skirt, good to wear on the fall/winter/spring season. I think I am going to make with the lighter fabric for summer. Green colour as the model above is great colour for summer:) This is my first time ever for making pocket. For the first time I am...
