Megan Draper Dress From Mad Men TV Show

Hi everyone, I finished my Megan dress yesterday - exactly on the deadline of  Mad Men Dress Challenge 3 but I couldn't publish my project in the blog. I took some pictures last night but the result wasn't so clear, so I took pictures again today and publish it as soon as I finished. My dress is inspired by Megan Draper 60's style yellow dress, but I made some changes according to my own style, Make the dress length a little bit longer Sewn 6 buttons on the skirt front flap instead of 4 buttons  The belt finished with snap-fasteners in the back side of the dress image source As I couldn't find any plain yellow fabric in my local shop, I bought 2.5 yards medium crepe fabric in very deep pink ( the fabric has shiny part in one side and hard in the other side) according to the shop owner I can use both side of fabric. I used the shiny one facing inside. And for the skirt flap lining, I used silk polyester fabric. me...

Sewing Plans

Hello everyone! Today post is about March sewing plan for magam challenge , and some more sewing stuff that I want to make on the next couple days. For magam challenge, I am going to make a dress based on Vogue 8228. Many months ago, a friend gave me four Vogue patterns and I think is time for me to give one of the pattern a try. I never worked with Vogue pattern before, so I hope I am lucky and my dress will turn out as the pattern envelope :-) And for the fabric, I will use my strong blue linen ( the fabric suggestion is light-weight linen, so I think my fabric choice is excellent). Speaking about the fabric, in the beginning of Magam challenge I am planning to make Burdastyle jacket with this fabric. I have done the jacket muslin but I do not like the style so much. Then I give up and I put the fabric back to stash. I hope I will make the dress with this fabric, so there is no reason for it to go back to the stash again, eheheh...
