Velvet Ribbon

Hello and happy weekend everyone, I finally finished this voluminous sleeve blouse and wore it on Friday. I love everything about this cozy blouse, especially the sleeves. They are fabulous and not too bubbly. The original blouse has collar and necktie but I decided to omit them because I don't have enough fabric. In the end, I love the blouse without the collar and I think plain v-neck suits me better.

Ruffle sleeve is on trend now, so I decided to make this blouse for myself and I love it. For the pattern, I modified the dress pattern H from Casual Sweet Clothes  by Noriko Sasahara and for the fabric, I used the leftover Korean cotton from previous garment.  The original dress pattern has v-neckline and finished the sleeve with two pieces of ruffles, you can see my dress version  here . And as I want a round neckline blouse and a little bit fuller ruffle sleeve, I have to change the pattern pieces,

I finally managed to take pictures of my November blouses, the first blouse is a wearable muslin in pale pink colour cotton and the real blouse is yellow lightweight jersey knit as shown in the picture below. My first plan was to make the real blouse with knit tulle dot fabric in salmon colour but it was ruined because I accidentally cut the sleeve while trimming the excess fabric at the seam allowance. The same day when my overlocker machine broke. Uh oh, that must be the only day that I had two consecutive bad luck. Anyway, I put the knit tulle fabric plus the leftover inside plastic bag and will be making another garment later. And gladly that the overlocker machine fixed after three days stayed in the shop for repair.

Hi sewing friends! Finally the weather is getting colder here in Macau and I am glad I finished my two bohemian blouses (floral voile and blue cotton with small prints) on time. Both fabrics are new bought during my trip to Seoul in August. The floral voile blouse is my second garment of  MAGAM October  with the theme Sew October One, my plan was sewing two garments from one fabric (a dress and blouse). You can see the finished dress  here . I used BurdaStyle Bohemian Blouse 10/2016 #121 B  size 36 with the finished sleeve with cuff as pattern #121A. The blouse style is very sweet, it has V-neck, shaping pleats and gathered sleeves. Those details caught my eyes for the first time I saw the magazine and I immediately put the pattern on my working list.   Hello everyone! I made a new blouse yesterday! This is my third pleated blouse based on Burdastyle pattern 04/2013  size 36 with variation, I inserted the elastic in the hemline. I make the experiment on my second blouse that I didn't blog about it and I love how it turned-out. I wore it last Friday to match with my 3/4 pants to participate MMM'14 day 16. The picture below is old version of my second blouse, taken in the local market last year when I participated MMM'13 day 18. Hi everyone! I am glad that I managed to finish my February garment for  MAGAM Challenge  on time :) This blouse based on Burdastyle pattern 08/2012, details here on my last post. Sewing process: I traced the pattern (size 36), reduced the length of the sleeves 7.5 cm but I leaved  the blouse length same as the original pattern. I omitted the sleeves opening because I didn't have any zipper inside my stash that match the fabric color. Then I added seam allowances in all edges and transfer the pattern onto the fabric. I am very lazy this moment, so I decided to skip the muslin and I am very lucky that the blouse fit me nicely. The neckline is right on the place that I like, the bust darts and back darts are fine and allow me to move my body freely. The sleeves are good, I feel free to move my arm too. The only thing funny is the blouse length, they are too long and look unflattering on me.  I have to cut it about 7.5 cm, so the feet of the...

Happy Monday to you all! My February plan for MAGAM Challenge  will be a very simple yet elegant everyday blouse based on Burdastyle pattern 08/2012 -  Printed Blouse 109 . For the fabric, I will use my pink viscose that I bought last month. The thread and the buttons are from my stash. image source I traced the pattern yesterday and I found that this pattern has funny bust darts. The bust darts are starting from the waistline - you can see the picture above. But according to the pattern description,  this blouse is flattering on any body type because of the shaping bust darts :)  So, I am curious and can not wait to see how the blouse will turn out.   Happy sewing!

Hello! This is the first wearable muslin that I made! Well, usually I make muslin from white cotton then I will throw it to the trash after fitting. I am planning to make a long sleeve blouse for fall/winter but I want to try the pattern first by making a wearable muslin. I thought that the collar and the front plackets were not so easy to work. As I only had 1.20 yards of printed chiffon inside my stash, I decided to make a sleeveless blouse. For the pattern, I used burdastyle shirt blouse 03/2013 size 36. As this blouse is wearable muslin and sleeveless, I omitted the sleeves, sleeves tabs, hem tabs, finish the hem line with an overlocker machine - rolled hemmed and sew me-made bias tape onto the armhole. blouse front blouse back   After all, the collar and the front plackets aren't difficult to sew.    Look what I made on last weekend! a new pleated blouse from  Burda Style 04/2013 issue , a very airy blouse that is perfect for summer. And I think this blouse will match well with jeans, pencil pants or even shorts. Yeah.. the type of blouse that suits my everyday life without feeling stuffy:) Here are the details of this blouse, Pattern: I used pleated blouse  pattern from burda style magazine 04/2013 issue, size 36. I did not make any alterations, I just copy the pattern to the transparent paper, transfer the pattern to the fabric, cut it and sew it according to the patterns instructions. Believe me, this is the easiest and fastest project that I ever worked.   Materials: I used 2 yards of light weight polka dot cotton, but I still have left over fabric that I can use to make a scarf or another small project.           I was very excited when Burda Style announced their spring favourite new pattern ( http://www.burdastyle.com/blog/spring-favorites-new-patterns-and-projects#read-on ) , especially when I saw the chanel style jacket. The jacket is cute but I fell in love with the blouse so badly, oh ...I can not take my eyes out from that blouse. Unluckily, the blouse not included in the pattern:( Well, I decided to make it myself.   Things that I need to make this blouse:   Basic bodice ( drop the front neck to draw V neck), finished with scalloped around the front neck down to the waist center front. Finally I had time to post my latest project. The 80's style long sleeve blouse. Made from chiffon that I bought two months ago but I did not have time enough to sew all my fabric. The blouse pattern is from selfdrafted pattern without bust dart. It's very easy because I do not need to worry about making button hole. The size of the tie is 12 cm x 30 cm (2 pieces), I connected the two pieces together and then stitch it directly on the neck line. This is how the front blouse turned up. This is the wrong side of the front blouse. The skirt looks good to match with the blouse, I am really loving it. For more detail about the skirt visit my post on high waist skirt #1
