Lace Long Sleeve Flowy Blouse

Image
I'm finally back to writing on this blog after being busy for two months, I still sew some small items and mend a few clothes but haven't sewn new clothes.  Until two days before Valentine's arrived, I felt like I had to sew a new blouse to wear to dinner. The blouse had to be in the shade of pink, so I checked my stash and found 2 yards of lace fabric in fuchsia that I don't remember when I bought it. After I had the fabric, I started making the pattern (based on my previous self-drafted blouse pattern) I modified the pattern into a flowy blouse. The pattern was simple, a round neckline, gathered front and back yokes and gathered sleeves with elastic bands. Here is the pattern that I drafted, And after the pattern was done, I cut the fabric as usual. The sewing process was fun and turned out to be easier than I imagined. I made a patchwork dress for my entry to  #magamsewalong  challenge on Instagram. The progress was very relaxing and I did it slowly, one hour every day in my free time and glad after two and half weeks I finished my dress.  After searching for inspiration on Pinterest, I decided to make a simple dress with a v-neck and short sleeves. For the pattern, I used my self-drafted v-neck dress. The v-neckline finished with neck facing, invisi

For the pattern, I used Ottobre Design 07/2017 Men's shirt size 56. I was lucky I found this magazine on our last trip to Portugal. Well, I miss traveling and hope this pandemic will be over and we all can travel again. The fabric I used for this shirt was cotton shirting in light pink from the local shop and stayed inside my stash for a while. So, I was happy that I finally made it into a shirt that my husband will wear.   The original pattern was long sleeves shirt with two different types of pockets, one with flap pockets and another without flaps. But in this case, I changed the shape of the pocket and used one side only. Also, I made it in short sleeves by cut the sleeve length above the elbow. I added collar stays too and lengthened the hem 7 cm. I was more organized and t
