DIY Women's Boxer Shorts

I made two boxer shorts to replace the old ones that aren't in condition to wear. I decided to sew them yesterday as soon as I have free time and I'm glad the first boxer shorts in brown printed jersey knit are done in three hours. And then, I continue to sew another one this morning.  So happy that I had two pairs of very comfy memade boxer shorts now and for sure I will wear them daily at home.  For the fabric, I used a brown printed jersey knit that I bought last month and a white printed floral knit cotton from my stash. I still have leftovers of both fabrics to make other garments. Maybe boxer shorts for my husband, I will see.    I had a self-drafted boxer shorts pattern before, but I couldn't find it. So, I decided to draft another but this time I used my self-drafted pants as a base.  I laid both pants pattern pieces and added 6 cm space between them.  Added 2 cm at the upper line at the waistline. Lengthened both crotches fr...

Easy Pajama Shorts

Hi everyone, I made these pajama shorts especially for my dear husband. He needed some new shorts to wear at home, so I decided to make two for him. The two fabrics are from stash and I still have leftover to make t-shirt for me :) I made the blue one a month ago and already made a t-shirt from the leftover fabric, you can see it  here . And I finished the green one two days ago, the leftover fabric is still huge. Maybe I will make a t-shirt, but I am not sure when I will work with it. We will see.. Pattern: I followed step by step tutorials from Craftsy.com - it's very easy and quick project to make. You can check out the link, here Materials: Both of the fabrics are knit cotton in green and dark blue color, 1" elastic for the waist band, buttons as front decoration and same color of thread. For the sewing process is very easy, I followed the tutorials from Craftsy but I added button on the front shorts and I sew the hem line using t...

Floral Shorts

floral shorts front Hello all, I finished this floral shorts yesterday but still missing the refashion t-shirt and hand bag to complete my first project for 2013 style the stash sew a long . While I am working on my refashion t-shirt, I'd love to share the details of the shorts with all of you. Materials: 1.5 yards of light weight floral linen, 1 yard of silk crepe de chine for shorts lining, 2 yards of cotton lace, fusible interfacing, invisible zipper, hook n' eye, 4 small snap fasteners and same color of thread. Pattern modifications: I made this shorts from pencil pants pattern, based on Burdastyle Pencil Pants 04/2013  size 38. As shown on my sketch above, I reduced/shorten the middle center of the pattern 6 cm - because the pattern is way to long for my petite body. For the length of the shorts, I measured from the waist (a) down to the thigh area (b) 40 cm. And from crotch area (c) down to the inner thigh area (d) 21 cm. I also extend/added th...

Pink Sorbetto and 3/4 Pants

pink sorbetto pink sorbetto pink sorbetto Actually, I finished this pink sorbetto and 3/4 pants on sunday last week but only now I am having time to publish it. I get distracted with my last project for palette challenge ss2012 and finally I finished the challenge:-)  Hooray!! The fabric for pink sorbetto top is light pink cotton that I had already inside my stash. The pattern is sorbetto from colette patterns (I think everyone already knew about this sorbetto). I made my sorbetto little different from the original pattern, here is my pattern modifications: Removed the bust dart. Make 2" (5 cm) wide for the neckline and armholes facing. Topstitched the armholes and neckline using hand sewing. How I inserted the neck and armholes facing:   Sew the front and back neck facing right sides together. Then stitch it around the neckline. Turn the facing inside and topstitched aro...

Ellen #9305 Shorts

front side of the shorts A Today, I am exciting to post my first project for palette challenge ss2012 . Honestly, I had done this pink color shorts 4 days after I decided to participate the challenge but I didn't have time to publish it. I continued sewing my second shorts for the challenge, I choose cotton fabric in brown color. For the style, I used same style as pink color shorts but with different type of pockets.
