Hi there, I finally updated this blog after months away. Life was busy but I still sewing a few stuff. I mostly share on my  IG or TikTok . And today, I'd love to share my latest make, a tie-front blouse. A comfy summer blouse with cute tie and gathered front. I made it in short sleeve and the length was right on my hipline, this blouse will be easy to wear with denim pants or skirt. I was happy with the final blouse and planning to make more to fill a gap in my summer wardrobe. For the fabric, I used printed cotton from my stash, it was a souvenir from our trip to Bali and for the pattern, I used a self-drafted pattern - based on my basic sloper and modified it. The sewing process started with cutting the fabric and followed with fuse the front facing and back neck facing with fusible interfacing. After that, I sewed the ties. Hi there, I'm happy I finally finished this orange blouse I started in February. The blouse has a round neckline, long sleeves finished with elastic and for the button-down style, I used hook and eye closures instead of buttons. I hope the closures will not come out while wearing. And for my safety, I will wear an undershirt 😊  For the pattern, I used Burdastyle 12/2019 size 38. The original blouse has ruffles at the plackets and neckline. I omitted the ruffles and drafted the neckline facings.  But in the end, I had a little problem, the back side with the gathers was too bulky because of the thick fabric, so I had to remove the gathers and make the back flat.  Here is my fabric (medium weight crepe blend in orange) after cutting, I sewed the darts, fused the plackets with fusible interfacing and folded them. Hi there, welcome back and happy weekend 🌺 I finished a button-down top three days ago. I planned to make this for so long and glad I finally did it. I used Ottobre Design Maureen SS 2/2018 pattern size 40 and left-over cotton fabric from my previous garment. The buttons, threads and interfacing were from my stash, so I didn't spend any for this top. The processes were smooth until the collar, I didn't like it, too high for my liking. I removed it and tried again by lowering the neckline by 1.5 cm and making a new collar. I sewed the collar but I didn't like it. It looks weird to me. So, I removed it again and went without the collar. I had to remove the stitching at the back yoke and the front lining. And then pinned and sewed the lining piece around the neckline's right sides together. I made this oversized blouse last month for my entry to #magamniftynovember challenge on Instagram. I chose to make a nifty (stylish) blouse to wear daily and I was glad that I had all the things needed in my stash. I had 3 yards of linen fabric in pink color and almost matching the color of the buttons, I still had leftover fabric enough to make a sleeveless blouse for summer later. For the pattern, I used Burdastyle oversized blouse 10/2019 size 40. I omitted the back yoke and welt pocket and also, shortened the length by 8 cm. I was planning to take step-by-step pictures of the progress, but I had a busy life and sewing time was whatever free time I had, sometime in the early morning, mid-day, or late night, so the photo quality at night wasn't so good.
