Hi there, I made a new denim skirt using leftover fabric from my previous project. I'm glad I finished this skirt on time when the hot weather arrived.  I was planning to sew a capsule wardrobe for summer and happy that I finally started. I was confused about what I should sew first. And I saw a leftover denim fabric, so I decided to make a skirt first. My capsule wardrobe will be something simple to wear daily. I will make skirts, tops, and pants. And I will use the stashed fabrics first, we will see... For the skirt pattern, I used Burdastyle zippered front midi skirt pattern 12/2019 size 40. I shortened the length above my knee by 12 cm, shortened the pocket length by 7 cm, and changed the zipper to the center back. I also added 1.5 cm at the sides, according to my waistline. The sewing process started with the back skirt. I sewed the darts. I sewed the pocket pieces, pinned the pockets to the front skirt, and sewed them.   Pinned and sewed the front and back skirt together...

Hello, I finished my February garments on time but it takes a little bit longer to publish in the blog. I wanted to make this outfit for so long and glad I did it. The poncho hoodie is based on  BurdaStyle pattern 11/2016 -126B  size 36, I didn't make modification on the pattern except shorten the sleeves length 5 cm, shorten the hem line 5 cm and made the high low hem at the back not so deep - in this case I trimmed the back hemline again 3 cm. I used 1.5 cm seam allowances in all edges and sleeve and hem allowances as well.

Hello, I finished the two Plantain t-shirts for  Magam  challenge January "Sew New Start". This two t-shirts are my first make in 2017, I decided to sew basic top because I realised that I still need some of this for my wardrobe. Besides basic top I still need basic bottoms (skirts and pants) as well, so my general plan for 2017 is to sew more basic garments. Below pictures are the finished t-shirts, green colour is the real one and grey colour is the wearable muslin. Before I continue, I want to mention here that I decided to make this Plantain t-shirts after I saw Lisa's version some months back. Hello, Me Made May 2016 has come to an end. It was a great month and I am glad that I managed to wear self-stitched garments and refashioned for the whole month. My special thank you to Zoe  for organizing the awesome challenge, my dear husband who took photos during the whole month and to all my sewing friends for the lovely comments through Flickr. Hello... It has been more than two weeks since I wrote a blog post, once again my boy sick during the whole last week, he had high fever and throat infection. What a poor little thing :(  But I am very happy that he is fine and already back to school on Tuesday. As I mentioned on my last post, I am joining a challenge "make a garment a month" and my first project is a simple dress that I am planning to wear on my holidays soon. And here she is....   dress front Pattern: I used 'Flounce Dress 5C" Burdastyle special A/W 2013 size 34 for the bodice and size 38 for the skirt. I raised the front neck 2 cm - I did it because I already knew that Burdastyle "V" neck style always too low for my taste. I omitted the sleeves and the flounce. I lengthen the skirt 7 cm and finished the hem line with blind hem. Materials: 2 yards of printed crepe, lightweight fusible interfacing for the neck facing, me-made...
