Velvet Ribbon

I was planning to make five garments in June and glad I managed to make them all. Four of the garments were finished last month and the last garment (kimono cover-up) was finished yesterday. The kimono was easy, fun and fast to sew. I love it and thinking to make another in a plain color, I have a rayon fabric in green in my stash and I might use it. My plan was to sew this kimono to match with  my orange swimsuit  as a cover-up and also, to wear it with  my elastic waist denim pants  and RTW tank top as shown in the picture above. For the fabric, I used printed cotton voile. I had 75 cm leftover from  my previous dress  and I went back to the shop and bought another 1.5 yards.  For the pattern, I followed a Youtube tutorial from Jess Dang's channel  here is the link , her video is lovely and easy to follow. Hello sewing friends, I finally finished the wearable muslin for MAGAM Joyful June, Sweetheart dress :) The pattern is based on BurdaStyle Vintage Modern Elizabeth Gathered-waist Dress size 34, I modified the bodice at the neckline and armhole. And for the fabric, I used cotton voile that already stayed inside my stash for a while. Before I write more about the challenge of making this dress, let's take a look of the final dress that I wore this morning. I went out with husband and son visited Leal Senado, then walked around Sao Domingos market. I always enjoyed flat sketch and I made this one especially for the Sweetheart Dress. Hello.. I refashioned my two old dresses. I had the idea some months ago but always delayed with other things. And I am so glad that Me-Made-May'15 inspired me to look back to what I have sewn and forced me to refashion some garments and throw away others that really don't fit anymore. Yay! Firstly, I will show you my refashioned dress. I love it very much because of the prints. The fabric is viscose, it isn't the best fabric to wear in hot summer day but I couldn't resist the prints :D This dress is my self-drafted. My work in this dress wasn't so bad even I noticed that the armhole was a little bit big and I sewn the zipper in wrong side.
