Velvet Ribbon

Hi friends, hope you are well. I made another aqua blue top with a puff sleeve and gathered front style. My plan was to make a puff sleeve top with a button-down style but I changed my mind after I saw many cute gathered tops on Pinterest. I used my self-drafted jersey v-neck t-shirt pattern, modified the sleeves into puff sleeves, slashed the center front into four pieces, and connected again with a space of  2.5 cm, as shown in the picture below. Pattern detail: Sleeves (2 pieces), neckband (in the end I don't need), back top (on the fold), front top (2 pieces) and ties ( 45 cm wide x 4 cm / included seam allowance 1 cm). I used my overlocker machine to sew almost all the edges and my sewing machine to sew the ties, neckline, sleeves and hemline. I wanted to sew this wrap style dress since the day I received the Burdastyle magazine from my cousin. So happy that I finally made it and wore it last week. For the fabric, I used printed knit cotton that I bought recently in the local shop.  This dress is part of my  #makenine2020 , a yearly self-challenge in Instagram and glad I managed to make six garments, missing three more to sew before the end of the year (culottes, long jacket and denim jacket). But I decided to raise the neckline 1.5 cm and shorten the length at the hemline 3 cm, finished with 2.5 cm hem allowance sewed with a twin needle. Hello, I made a new top based on Ottobre sewing pattern magazine and this is the first garment of 2020. I chose this pattern because it looked easy to sew and I will wear this top more in my daily life. For the fabric, I used knit cotton in red that I bought at the end of December and I still have leftover to make another garment.

Hello, I made two sweaters based on Burda Easy A/W 2013 - pattern no 6 C size 34/36. These projects belong to  MAGAM March Challenge with theme "Moreish Makeover March". I was trying my best to finish them by the end of last month but I couldn't. These sweaters are my second and third versions, you can check my first version  for more detail including my work process. For the fabrics, I used medium weight knit cotton in dark blue with small flowers and pink with small white dots. I bought 3 yards and I only need 1.75 yards for each sweater, so I still have left over fabric enough to make summer top :) The sewing process was easy but somehow it took so long for me to finish. I started work with the blue sweater and decided to change the original hi-low hem with a normal hem and used black ribbing for the bands. Hello.. I made two shorts for my son, one in grey colour and another in wine colour. Both of them are using medium knit cotton fabrics, elastic waistline, no pockets and finished with decorative sticker in the right side of the bottom. They are very comfortable to wear and my son loved them :)  Pattern: The original pattern is a sweatpants pattern,  BurdaStyle 10/2013#142 size 110 . I copied the pattern pieces on the sheet of papers. I cut the shorts length until a little bit below the knee and omitted the pockets. I added 3 cm for outer and 1 cm for inner  shorts at the bottom, this method is good to avoid the tightness. After that I glued both front and back patterns together. I added 7 cm for the waistband and 2 cm for the hemline. A little note : the length of the grey colour shorts is 2 cm under my son knee and the length of the wine colour is 7 cm under his knee. Hi everyone.. Today post is the continuation of my weekly update "Diy Friday" . Sorry for not updating my diy's episode for so many weeks, I have been busy with a lot of good things :) My little boy needed some new shorts to wear on summer. All his shorts are getting small and tight at the waist. Well, I decided to search my stash and found leftover of knit cotton that is enough to make two shorts. Yay! Materials: knit cotton 3 cm wide elastic thread Pattern: Based on BurdaStyle Boy's Sweatpants 10/2013-124 size 110.
