Velvet Ribbon

Hi there, I finally finished the patchwork dress that I was sewing slowly since April. I'm so relieved and happy with how the dress turned out. The dress has a simple style, round neckline with slit, short sleeves, knee length, zipper at the back and full body lining. Simple everyday dress but the happy colors made it special 😍 Back in April, I cut these square shape of fabric 13 cm x 13 cm and sew them together and overlocked the raw edges to avoid fraying. And I got two pieces of fabrics more than enough to make a short sleeve dress. And cut the fabric, I used Faitmain shirt dress pattern May 2019 as a base, omitted the collar, made a round neckline finished with front slit. Hello friends, I finished a midi dress for my entry to #magamsewalong challenge on Instagram. This month's theme is Jumble July and I decided to make a patchwork dress using my old dresses and scrap fabrics. For the pattern, I used my self-drafted slip dress pattern. I added darts (front and back) and lengthen the dress until the middle of my knee. Also, I made the straps a little bigger than my previous slip dress. The progress started with drafting the pattern pieces and cut the old dresses, rtw top and scrap fabrics into a square shape. And then stitched them together until formed a big piece of patchwork fabric, as shown in the pictures below. After that, I cut the fabric and the lining as well. I made a patchwork dress for my entry to  #magamsewalong  challenge on Instagram. The progress was very relaxing and I did it slowly, one hour every day in my free time and glad after two and half weeks I finished my dress.  After searching for inspiration on Pinterest, I decided to make a simple dress with a v-neck and short sleeves.
