Wearable Muslin And Lovely Sunday Afternoon

Hello! This is the first wearable muslin that I made! Well, usually I make muslin from white cotton then I will throw it to the trash after fitting. I am planning to make a long sleeve blouse for fall/winter but I want to try the pattern first by making a wearable muslin. I thought that the collar and the front plackets were not so easy to work. As I only had 1.20 yards of printed chiffon inside my stash, I decided to make a sleeveless blouse. For the pattern, I used burdastyle shirt blouse 03/2013 size 36. As this blouse is wearable muslin and sleeveless, I omitted the sleeves, sleeves tabs, hem tabs, finish the hem line with an overlocker machine - rolled hemmed and sew me-made bias tape onto the armhole. blouse front blouse back   After all, the collar and the front plackets aren't difficult to sew. I pleat the front plackets to the blouse body, sew it according to the instructions. As this blouse doesn't have a collar stand, I ...

Burdastyle Summer Tank, Dress And Jersey Cowl Top

Hello... Finally my little boy recovered from cough and flu, so today I have time to write a post on this blog. I finished three projects before my holidays but I didn't have time to post them. The summer tank and dress based on free Burdastyle pattern . The pattern is originally for a tank but I think it will be good to make a dress too. SUMMER TANK Pattern : free pattern from Burdastyle, Summer Tank Top 05/2013 size 34/36. Beware, the pattern is too big, the size of the armhole is almost on my waist. So, I have to reduced both side of the tank 3". And I also reduced the length of the tank 3.5" Materials : 1.5 yard of printed rayon from my stash - it's not the most comfortable fabric but the print is beautiful. This is a very easy and fun project to make. I drew the pattern according to the instructions from Burdastyle, reduced the side and the length of the tank. I sew the tank right side together with 1.5 cm seam allowance. Then sew the drawstring and ...

The tops are facing up with same fabric and fused with light weight fusible interfacing. Also, I used 1.5 cm seam allowances for all edges and hem. And 3 cm for sleeve hem. All of them are from my stash. source The process of making this dress is very simple and enjoyable. The instructions from the book are very easy to follow and I definitely will make another project based on this pattern. Sew invisible zipper in the middle back side. Sew the front and back facing right sides together, press and iron it. Then sew the facing around neckline right sides together, turn it inside the dress. Press, top stitched and iron...
