V-neck Floral Blouse

Hi everyone, I am wearing my V-neck floral blouse for the second day of Me-Made-May'16. Me and my family went to the Venetians Macau this morning. Are you participating? If yes, happy MMM'16 to you :) I am posting my daily outfit through Flickr , you can pop over  the group to see all the lovely participants. I made this blouse in October last year but never had the opportunity to publish a blog post :( For the fabric, I used kind of transparent cotton voile with lovely bright floral and I only bought 1.5 yards which is just enough to make sleeveless blouse. For the pattern, I used BurdaStyle Simple Blouse 04/2013#104A size 36 with modification in the neckline, front piece and skip the sleeves. The original pattern is a long sleeves blouse with high collar and high low hem. I started the process with the front piece, make the V-neckline by measure 11 cm from CF down to the chest and drew a new line of V-neck (I did the same as...

Polka Dot Blouse

Hello... For September "Snoop Sewing" I decided to copy Lauren Conrad blouse, shown  here . My plan was sew a high collar blouse and big chest pockets b ut things didn't go so well and in the end I have to cut the high collar and make it as a V-neck blouse. I also skip the pockets because they don't look good with V neck. Here is the final result... picture from whowhatwear.com Pattern And Materials: BurdaStyle Simple Blouse 04/2013 # 104 A  size 36 1.5 yards of small black polka dots over white colour cotton fabric, 8 small dark brown and white gingham buttons, 1/2" bias tape and thread. Sewing Process: As usual I sew the front plackets and sew the front and back pieces at the shoulder right sides together, then attached the sleeves on the body. After that I sew the high collar and attached to the neckline. The result shown in the picture below (first one from the left). My work on the collar was fine but just a little bit tight for my neck and i...

Finished MAGAM April : Watercolour Floral Dress

Hello everyone.. Finally I finished my watercolour floral dress for April  MAGAM - Make A Garment A Month with the theme "Blooming Flowers" After working on it for some days, in the end I decided to remove the smocked. I will explain more in the below post. For now let's see the final dress that I already wore last Sunday and already shared the picture in MMMay'15 day 10 Flickr group  and My Facebook Page Here is the continuation of my work on this dress. You can check on my previous post  for half of the sewing process. After I pleated and pinned the skirt to the bodice right sides together, I smocked the dress according to the instruction but I only made four rows. Then I sew both sides of the dress and tried it. But I didn't like the look of the dress on me :( I have to say that my work on the smocked wasn't bad but it didn't fit me well. Maybe it will look good for others especially with taller and skinnier figure. ...

MAGAM April Dress In Progress - Part 1

Hello.. I am making a dress for April - Make A Garment A Month  (magam)  with the theme "Blooming Flowers". After thinking and looking for the right fabric and pattern to work with, I chose this beautiful watercolour floral chiffon that I won from Ariation's  giveaway. As the chiffon is transparent, I will lining the dress bodice with jersey net fabric in white color and I will make half slip to cover my lower body. For the pattern, I am using BurdaStyle Smocked Maxi Dress 04/2013 size 34. I have to grade down the pattern because the minimum size from the original pattern is 36. I decided to change the loops and buttons to three little bows or just one bow at the center front. I will see... Also, I will reduce the dress length from maxi to tea length. image source Sewing Process: I cut all the fabric pieces, fashion fabric and lining. Also cut the belt and bias tape for the neckline and armholes. I placed the lining fabric right ...

Burdastyle Pleated Dress

Hello dear readers, I made a new dress this morning :) It was a very easy and fast project to make, I cut the fabric - fuse fusible interfacing on the facings - pin all the pieces - sew it and in three hours my dress finished and  ready to wear:) For the pattern, I used  Burdastyle Satin Dress 04/2013 # 108 size 36. I traced the dress pattern long time ago but didn't have a chance to make it. But I made three blouses based on same pattern, you can see the first blouse here  and the second and third blouses here . I modified the pattern by adding 1.5 cm on the dress sides, starting from the waist down to the hem. I also made the neckline a little bit higher 0.75 cm ( I did this to avoid neckline gaping because this time I used knit fabric) As I want the easiest and fastest dress to make, I omitted the pockets and made my version elastic belt. For the fabric, I used the left over fabric from my paneled shirt - kind of knit cotton fabric in grey co...
