Velvet Ribbon

I was planning to make comfy and loose dress to wear this summer and so happy I finally made it. For the pattern, I used Faitmain shirt dress May 2019 as a base and modified the neckline into v-neck. I always prefer v-neck for summer, it felt comfier and fresh. And for the fabric, I used a floral linen blend from my stash. I bought the fabric from the local shop four years ago, the notion (thread, interfacing and buttons) were from stash too, so I didn't buy anything new to make this dress. After I had all the dress pieces, I modified the front neckline into v-neck by reducing 10 cm down from the CF and drafted a new line toward the shoulder. Here is the pieces, back (on the fold), front (2x), sleeves (2x) and bias tape band from the same fabric 4 cm wide. The sewing process was enjoyable, I did it between my free time and finished the dress in less than three weeks.  I sewed all the pieces together and realized that I should add front and back facings for neater look but I already...

I finally finished my UFO from March, I'm so glad. My first plan was to make a blouse but I changed my mind the day I cut the fabric, I saw the border print and I felt terrible if I didn't use it. So, I lengthened the pattern down until my knee. And to make the shirtdress more stylish, I sewed a black slipdress to wear under it. In this case, I skip the buttons and let the dress open. I love the look and I will wear this set more often for sure.  I used Norma blouse Ottobre design pattern S/S 02/2018 size 38, lengthened the hem until my knee, omitted the buttons, shortened the sleeves and made a full arm adjustment.  And for the fabric, I used Indonesian batik in red, a gift from a friend for my birthday last year.  The process of making this dress was lovely and relaxing, I started it in March and then I stopped. Hello friends, I finally finished my garment for #sewyourwradrobebasics June challenge hosted by @SeaOf Teal . The theme was ''Jersey'' and I was planning to make a wrap dress using the knit jersey fabric in purple from my stash. For me, a wrap dress is convenient and practical, I will just put the dress in, no zipper or button. I will wear this dress with flat shoes when doing errands and little high heels when going out for lunch/dinner.  But sadly, I didn't like the look of the dress on me. I think the problem was my fabric choice, too soft, too stretchy and lightweight. I will look for better fabric with medium-weight and less stretchy, so I can make this pattern again because it's a good pattern. Especially after my hard work to match the two patterns together, Burdastyle Wrap Dress 05/2019 size 38  and Fait Main Wrap Dress - May 2019 size 38. I love Burdastyle wrap dress pattern, I made the first version before and it fits me nicely...

I was planning to make this shirt since the day I bought the fabric last year and I'm glad that I finally made it. This shirt is my entry to Sew Your Wardrobe Basics , a challenge that I participated in Instagram hosted by Stefanie  @seaofteal   The February theme was "stripes" and it was a great opportunity to use my stripes fabric and sew the shirt that I planned for so long. I posted the  original plan  on my Instagram but I changed my mind and skip the embroidery as I don't have enough time at the moment. Maybe, I'll be doing the embroidery later.

I made three selfish garments last months and all of them are my entry for  #magamsewalong  hosted by lovely  Sarah Liz Sew Style  The two garments (colour block turtleneck t-shirt and jeans pants) finished on time but the pink t-shirt in the picture above finished two days ago. Luckily that the weather is getting cold again, so I can wear them. I wore the pink t-shirt with jeans pants yesterday and wearing the colour block turtleneck today. Also, the scarf was made by me and I think it goes really nice with the pink t-shirt. I was lucky to have enough amount of scrap plum colour knit in my stash.

Hello everyone, I made a new outfit and these garments are my entry for  #magamsewalong  October and November. My plan for October Original was a self-drafted skirt and white blouse in the picture below, the skirt turned out fine but I'd love to make adjustment next time. So, I will post the skirt detail separately later. For November Needs, I was planning to make jeans and bought two pieces of jeans fabrics in dark blue and black. I decided to sew the blue colour first as wearable muslin but in the end I like the result and I am in the middle of finishing the black one but no time to complete this month, so I will continue next month. Coincidentally the jeans and white blouse are lovely match, so I just wear it together 😁 Patterns: I modified both blouse and pants patterns to my liking  Burdastyle Shirt Blouse 03/2013  size 36  and  Burdastyle Straight Pants 10/2013  size 36.

Hello everyone, I am back after a long silence, once again busy life and low mood for blogging but I've been so active in  Instagram  and made some garments that I am excited to share with you. This asymmetrical neckline dress is one of the garments, I made it especially to wear in my dear niece wedding in London few weeks ago. It was a great wedding, both bride and groom were gorgeous, she looked so radiant and beautiful 💖💖
