Velvet Ribbon

Hello, I sewed three garments for myself last month, two t-shirts and culottes for everyday wear. I was planning to sew more separate garments since last year but always distracted with pretty dresses, so I'm glad that I managed to sew these t-shirts and culottes. I used Burdastyle patterns and stashed fabrics, sewing notion (zipper, thread, and interfacing) also from stash.

I made three selfish garments last months and all of them are my entry for  #magamsewalong  hosted by lovely  Sarah Liz Sew Style  The two garments (colour block turtleneck t-shirt and jeans pants) finished on time but the pink t-shirt in the picture above finished two days ago. Luckily that the weather is getting cold again, so I can wear them. I wore the pink t-shirt with jeans pants yesterday and wearing the colour block turtleneck today. Also, the scarf was made by me and I think it goes really nice with the pink t-shirt. I was lucky to have enough amount of scrap plum colour knit in my stash.

Hello fellow sewists, I made a cardigan and t-shirt for my entry in Instagram sewing challenge  #cosycardichallenge , both garments are based on Simplicity pattern 8059 size xs for the cardigan and xxs for the t-shirt. I was planning to make the cardigan only but decided to make the t-shirt after I finished because I don't have a matching t-shirt to wear with it. Luckily that the pattern came in five different models and one of them is a asymmetrical tunic that was easy to modify to a simple v-neck tee.

Hello, I finished the two Plantain t-shirts for  Magam  challenge January "Sew New Start". This two t-shirts are my first make in 2017, I decided to sew basic top because I realised that I still need some of this for my wardrobe. Besides basic top I still need basic bottoms (skirts and pants) as well, so my general plan for 2017 is to sew more basic garments. Below pictures are the finished t-shirts, green colour is the real one and grey colour is the wearable muslin. Before I continue, I want to mention here that I decided to make this Plantain t-shirts after I saw Lisa's version some months back. HAPPY NEW YEAR 2015! Today post is about my last garment of 2014 and also my December garment of MAGAM Challenge :) As I mentioned on  My Facebook Page some days ago this top is based on Spanish sewing magazine "Moda Diana" no.75 - 3P I was planning to make the top with purple knit fabric only but I decided to add color block with dark purple knit because I want to make a not so boring basic top. At the end of my work, I liked my new top and I am happy to have one more casual top that I can wear with my jeans :) Pattern And Alterations: As I mentioned in the beginning, for the pattern I used Spanish sewing magazine "Moda Diana" no.75 - 3P size 34/36. The minimum size of the original pattern is 38/40, so I have to grade down the pattern to size 34/36 with following alterations, I omitted the darts (bust darts and back darts) Made a color block by slashed the front top pattern in two pieces Shorten the sleeve length 2 cm Reduced the length of the top ...

Hello... Today, I'd like to share my latest sewing project that I made in the beginning of December and that I already wore several times :) The other day when I was popping around Pinterest, I found a free dress pattern that I cannot resist to give it a try. After I saved and printed the pattern, I checked inside my stash box but I couldn't find two yards of knit cotton to make the full dress. Then, I went to another stash box and luckily found the leftover knit cotton in black and white, both are 75 cm. So, only enough to make a color block t-shirt :) Well, my first experiment of this pattern was good. I like the simple basic pattern that is so easy to mix and match. Hi everyone! I didn't sew anything since I came back from holiday. I have been busy but luckily things are settle-down and I will hopefully be back to sewing very soon :) And as I didn't make a new project, I'd like to show you the t-shirt that I made before going to holiday. It was a fun t-shirt to make. I like the hole cut-out in the shoulder, it makes the t-shirt cuter and stylish. But to sew it is a little bit tricky, especially at the neckline area. The idea of making this t-shirt came out suddenly when I was looking at the leftover fabric from my husband pajama shorts . I love the green knit cotton and it deserved something more stylish than normal tee. Then I remember that I have an old Burda magazine pattern that I want to try. After I worked on the pattern and sewing it, the result is just lovely and I like it :) Pattern And Modifications: Burda magazine June 2008 - 123 size 34. I have to draw new line of the pattern for size 3...

Hello everyone, Sorry for my late post! Here is my June  MAGAM outfit based on Burdastyle patterns.. T-shirt details, Simple style t-shirt, nothing fancy but perfect for everyday wear.   Pattern and modification: For the pattern, I used Burda t-shirt pattern 06/2008 - 113 size 34. You can check out my first version here.   As you all see that my first version was fine but I am not so happy with how the neckline turned out, so I decided to raise the front neckline 2 cm and I used smaller neckband 1 cm.   Materials: 1.5 yards of knit cotton in white color, stay tape for the shoulder lines, and white color thread.   For the sewing process, you all can see here in  my first version . But I omitted the contrast stitching and made the neckband smaller. Hello, I am so happy that I finally made a t-shirt. It was a very fun project to make and I am so surprised that making it was not scary at all :) My June Magam plan is making an outfit (white knit t-shirt and floral skirt) - I am working on the skirt now and as I am not sure about the t-shirt pattern, I tried to make it first with another fabric. So, I will not ruin the white knit fabric if the t-shirt didn't came out well. I use the left over fabric from my husband pajama shorts, it's knit cotton in dark blue color and I decided to top stitch the t-shirt with orange thread around the neckline, armholes, sleeves hem and hem line. This idea came out suddenly during sewing and I think this t-shirt will match with my orange skirt .
