Simplicity 1314 Slim Pants And Kimono Top

Hello fellow sewists, I was checking my last post here in the blog and realised that I didn't make update for more than one and half months. I was busy with a lot of things but still making stuff/garments and most of them I published in  my Instagram . As things are back to normal this month and kid is back to school, I have a little free time to write a post and reading your posts too 😍 My latest makes are kimono top and slim pants, both are my entry to  #magamsewalong  hosted by lovely  Sarah Liz . This outfit is my August garment, I'm late but better late than never 😊

Ruffle Sleeve Blouse

Ruffle sleeve is on trend now, so I decided to make this blouse for myself and I love it. For the pattern, I modified the dress pattern H from Casual Sweet Clothes  by Noriko Sasahara and for the fabric, I used the leftover Korean cotton from previous garment.  The original dress pattern has v-neckline and finished the sleeve with two pieces of ruffles, you can see my dress version  here . And as I want a round neckline blouse and a little bit fuller ruffle sleeve, I have to change the pattern pieces,

Self-drafted Tank Tops

Hello sewing friends.. As promised in the previous post, here are the finished tank tops. I made the first one in denim colour (right side) to wear under my lace crop top , then I decided to make two more from the leftover fabrics to wear at home :) For the fabrics, I used denim jersey knit, yellow and grey striped jersey and strong blue cotton knit. I think I like more jersey knit fabric than the cotton knit, because it draped so nicely :) The pattern is self-drafted based/copied from my old rtw tank top and I will show you the process in the below post.

Lucky Cat Dress

Hello friends, As promised in my previous post , here is my second holiday dress. I wore it during our visit to N Seoul Tower, South Korea , pictures below taken in the park around the tower. I am sure you aren't surprised with the pattern I used, BurdaStyle Jamie Shift Dress  size 34. Well, this dress is my sixth version so far :) For the fabric, I used 1.5 yards of polycotton fabric in lucky cat printed that I bought in Hongkong last year. I don't know why I only bought 1.5 yards, if usually I use 2 yards for a dress. Anyway, with very careful calculation I made it :) I used bias tape instead of usual facings and cut the stripes of same fabric for hem allowance. This dress I made exactly like the original pattern, without back darts as I always added in my previous dresses. The process was fast, I finished it in five hours :) The process started with sewing the front darts and followed by all the usual manner that I don't need...

Button Down Shirt Dress

Hello.. I was planning to make this shirt dress for 13th April  Share In Style  with the topic "Your Own Style". But for some reason I only finished yesterday. This dress has short sleeves, button down, knee length and easy to wear with or without belt. Pattern: Based on BurdaStyle pattern Shirt Blouse 03/2013 size 36. To make a dress out of a shirt pattern, I lengthen the shirt hem until my knee. I also cut the sleeves length, from 3/4 sleeves to a short sleeves 16 cm long. Added 1.5 cm seam allowances in all edges and 3 cm hem allowance. Materials: 2 yards of printed rayon, bias tape, 10 small black buttons, fusible interfacing for the collar and thread Beside all the pattern modification above, I also added 4 cm in the center back at the neckline. I pleated the center back, sew it down 10 cm and leave the rest as it is. I added this method to allow my dress flown nicely without feeling too tight. I sew the colla...

Black And White Color Block T-Shirt - Free Pattern

Hello... Today, I'd like to share my latest sewing project that I made in the beginning of December and that I already wore several times :) The other day when I was popping around Pinterest, I found a free dress pattern that I cannot resist to give it a try. After I saved and printed the pattern, I checked inside my stash box but I couldn't find two yards of knit cotton to make the full dress. Then, I went to another stash box and luckily found the leftover knit cotton in black and white, both are 75 cm. So, only enough to make a color block t-shirt :) Well, my first experiment of this pattern was good. I like the simple basic pattern that is so easy to mix and match. For now, I am happy to make the t-shirt and for sure I will make the dress in the future :) Pattern and alteration: I used a free pattern The Brigitte Dress  from Love Sewing Magazine, size 8. As I made a top from this pattern, I cut the pattern on the hip line with the following al...

Simplicity New Look Top 6225 View B

Hello everyone, I have been so quiet for a while because I was busy with some stuff that distracted me for updating the blog. But in between my busy hours I am still sewing, making two muslins for my BurdaStyle jacket, tracing a new pattern and preparing a Halloween costume for my boy. And today, I wanted to show you my two new lace tops. One in strong blue and another one in strong pink. Both of the fabric are from stash that waiting for the right pattern to make.   This will be my first experiment of using Simplicity pattern. In my opinion, the instructions were easy to follow but the size is too big for me, I am petite. So, I have to make some adjustment. I bought four sewing  magazines two months ago when I visited Portugal, one of them is in Spanish language called MODA de Pasarela. I checked the magazine when I arrived home and I noticed that the content of the magazine is all f...
