DIY Make-Up Zipper Pouch

Image
I made an easy make-up zipper pouch using leftover fabrics and was happy with the result. The final size was 26 cm x 12 cm. It's lovely, fluffy, useful and big enough to store all my makeup and skincare products.  Materials for the pouch: - Main fabric, lining and polyester batting, 40 cm x 50 cm. - Fabric tags (2x), 9 cm x 10 cm. - Bias tape band, 6 cm wide. - Zipper The sewing process started with topstitching (quilt style) the main fabric and polyester batting together. After that, I sewed the zipper at the main fabric (both sides). I attached and sewed the lining to the main fabric, right sides together. And then, topstitched both sides of the zipper. And cut the excess zipper.  I sewed the tags and inserted them in both sides of the end of the zipper and sewed along the lines. I sewed the bias tape bands on both sides. Men's Button-Down Shirts

Hello, I sewed two shirts for DH to wear at work and glad he loved them. The red shirt with tiny brown stripes was made last year and the white shirt with grey stripes was made a few weeks ago. Both fabrics were cotton shirting from the local shop and stayed a while in my stash.

For the pattern, I used my TNT pattern Burdastyle Vintage Modern Frank Button-Down shirt with some modifications. I made the collar less pointy, made front placket on the fold, changed the button placement, made it in short sleeves and straight hemline.
I sewed three versions of this pattern, so the sewing process was okay and enjoyable. You can see my work details in my old posts, here and here.
For the white stripes shirt, I decided to insert to collar stays. So, I copied his RTW shirt and loved the final collar. Hope you can spot it in the picture below.
I was happy with the overall look of the finished shirt, I top-stitched the shoulder line, armhole and the upper back side. Also, I top-stitched the side area to the sleeve and sewed the hem slit.
I posted a video on my Instagram about the shirt's detail,  link here  if you are interested to see šŸ˜Š

About the red shirt, I shared some pictures in my Instagram last year but didn't share it on this blog. This shirt was more simple than the white one, I didn't insert collar stays and hem slit.

That's it for today, have a lovely day and happy sewing.
