DIY Puff Sleeve Gingham Top With Ruffle Hem

Happy Monday, friends. I made a new summer top using gingham fabric and a self-drafted pattern. The top is simple, featuring puff sleeves, a round neckline, and a ruffled hem. I decided to make it to fill a gap in my summer wardrobe. The fabric is cotton, which is perfect for wearing in our humid and hot summer. This picture was taken yesterday, and we went for a Sunday walk at the mall. I wore the top with my old and trusted denim pants.  I bought this gingham cotton fabric as a souvenir from our trip to Singapore last year and I'm happy I finally made a top with it. And I still have enough leftover to make another top. The pattern was self-drafted and I made two tops using the same pattern before.  The front bodice with darts and the back does not have a dart for comfort.  The sewing process was fast and enjoyable. Me-Made-May'13 Day 1-6

It's time for me to start documenting MMM'13, a challenge to wear self-stitched garments or anything handmade during the whole moth of May.

Day 1
On Wednesday 1st, I wore My pink shorts. I, my husband and little Eduardo went out to the new garden here in our area and continue walked around in our small city, then we went for lunch at Chinese restaurant nearby.

Day 2
On Thursday 2nd, I wore My Shift Dress. We went for lunch in our friend restaurant (O Santos Comida Portuguesa) here in our city. I took a picture in the main square near the place where we had lunch.

Day 3
On Friday 3rd, I wore shop-made outfit but the bag is me-made. Same story as the day before, we went for lunch at O Santos Comida Portuguesa again.
As the Friday theme is water, I decided to take a photo near the river on the way back home but unluckily the rain is coming on the time when we took a photo. Well, I got double water:)

Day 4
On Saturday 4th, I wore my old dress. Sorry that I didn't blogged it, a very simple self-drafted  sleeveless dress with front and back gathered skirt. I made this dress just after I gave a birth to my son Eduardo.
We went to shopping at the shopping area in Macau ( New Yaohan and around Leal Senado). I also went to fabric store and bought some more fabrics for my stash.
I took a photo in front of Casino Lisboa and Whynn Casino, sorry for bad quality photo. It was very ugly day, fog and little rain.

Day 5
On Sunday 5th, not so much story to tell about that day. We stay at home during the whole afternoon cleaned up our storage room. Then we went to the supermarket nearby in the end of the day.
I wore Cinnamon Dress, its very airy tiered mini dress based on Burdastyle pattern.
I took a picture on the side of parking near our house.

Day 6
On Monday 6th, I spent the whole morning working on men's shirt for my husband. I'll post on the blog as soon as I've done it.
For MMM'13 day 6, I wore A-Line Dress based on Burdastyle pattern. My husband picked us for lunch and we went to one of the restaurant here in our small city.
