Velvet Ribbon

I made a simple sleeveless dress last week using a printed rayon fabric that I repurchased a few months ago from the local shop. I love rayon, it drapes nicely and is perfect to wear in summer. For the pattern, I used a self-drafted sleeveless dress based on my basic dress slopers. The design of the dress is so simple, with a round neckline with a little lower back, sleeveless, no darts and knee length. I also lowered the armhole by 2 cm and made the shoulder thinner by 2 cm to make the dress more comfy and airy. Summer in my place is so hot and humid, and this comfy dress is perfect to wear. After I cut all the pieces, I fused the facings with fusible interfacing. The sewing process was started by pinning the front-facing and the front dress's right sides together, marked 8 cm in the upper armholes to leave the area without stitching. Hi there, happy weekend 🌺🌺 I recreated Ferragamo dress for my late entry to Sew Recreate The Look challenge on Instagram and I'm happy with the final dress. Recreating it was a challenge, but I'm glad I managed to make it. For the pattern, I used my self-drafted slip dress with princess seams. And then I added godets to match the satin inlay style on the original Ferragamo dress. For the fabric, I used denim in dark grey from my stash and cotton poplin leftover for the godets. The sewing process started with cutting the fabric, the straps, and the godets in triangles. I overlocked the raw edges of the godets and sewed the hem allowance 1 cm. And then I sewed the front and back pieces together. Remember to unstitch 36 cm to insert the godets later. I made a new floral slip dress using a yard of leftover cotton fabric and a self-drafted pattern. The sewing process was fun,  I did this dress for six hours in total during my free time in three days, which is not bad 😊 The dress was finished with straps and adjusters, knee length, and finished the neckline with facings. The only problem was that the fabric needed to be more to make the whole dress and I decided to make the back bottom dress using leftover pieces sewn together. Hi there, happy sewing! I made a new ruffle hem top, refashioned from the cotton dress I made a few years ago. For the pattern, I used a self-drafted top. The top is lovely, with a square neckline, sleeveless and a little ruffle at the hemline. Perfect for summer. I love it and this will be a great addition to my handmade wardrobe. Also, the top is easy to wear with a skirt or pants.  Here is the old dress, it's still in good condition but I really want to refashion it 😊 I bought the fabric during our trip to Japan, it's lovely floral cotton. I removed the zipper and the sleeves and cut the fabric.
