Crochet Swimsuit Cover-up Dress
Hi there, I hope you are well. I finally finished my crochet swimsuit cover-up dress that I started at the beginning of February. I enjoyed the slow process and was happy with how it turned out. I used 9 skeins of off-white cotton yarn and a 3 mm crochet hook. For the pattern, I followed a YouTube tutorial from Crochettoz . It's a clear and easy tutorial to follow, thank you so much 😍 Also, I shared my process of making this cover-up on my YouTube channel, click the video below if you want to see it. And please, subscribe to my channel if you like the video and want to see more in the future 😊😍 I took a few photos of the progress and the picture below shows the start of the cover-up dress. I did chain stitch until I reached 60'' and followed with double crochet stitch and then crocheted the patterns. I mostly crochet at night when I finish all the house chores and sometimes in the afternoon when I'm sitting on the sofa. The cover
What cute outfits. I learnt to sew by making clothes for my Barbie doll, so I am a little partial to admiring other people's hand made Barbie clothes. She probably needed a new wardrobe if you found her in a market - she will be pleased :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sarah Liz. I did that too, but I hand sewn my Barbie doll clothes when I was little :)
DeleteClever girl. I made a wardrobe for my grand-daughter's Barbie a few years ago, but I used a Vogue craft pattern for vintage 50's designs. Yes those teeny tiny seams are very tricky. The photos are on the Barbie Wardrobe page of my blog. Your self-drafted clothes are lovely, I may borrow your designs for my own Barbie who could do with a change of clothes. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Kathy. You can use my design anytime you want :)
DeleteI didn't know that you sewn Barbie wardrobe, I will pop over to see them.
What beautiful clothes for your Barbie. I love making doll clothes ..so fun.. You did an excellent job , drafting these clothes.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Judy. It is really fun to make doll clothes :)
Deletemy life these are just too adorable- I just don't have the patience to do such fiddly items much to my daughters disappointment
ReplyDeleteThanks Amanda :)
DeleteThanks for sharing your pattern designs and measurements. My granddaughter's doll is here and this is something I just might try.
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome, Dorothy. Hope my measurements and pattern designs will help :)
DeleteThese are so cute Hana. And I am sure Barbie is very happy with her new outfits! x
ReplyDeleteThanks, Dawn. I think she is happy now and soon I will dye her hair for better color :)
DeleteYour Barbie looks beautiful in her new clothes! I still have the Barbie clothes my grandmother made for my Barbie. Sometimes she would make matching dresses for me and my Barbie too. Great job on your drafting. Either of those outfits would be a beautiful garment for an adult to wear!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lisa. I agree, especially the green dress will be great for adult wear. I was thinking to sew for myself one day :)
DeleteThat's a really sweet story about your grandmother.. <3
