DIY Make-Up Zipper Pouch

Image
I made an easy make-up zipper pouch using leftover fabrics and was happy with the result. The final size was 26 cm x 12 cm. It's lovely, fluffy, useful and big enough to store all my makeup and skincare products.  Materials for the pouch: - Main fabric, lining and polyester batting, 40 cm x 50 cm. - Fabric tags (2x), 9 cm x 10 cm. - Bias tape band, 6 cm wide. - Zipper The sewing process started with topstitching (quilt style) the main fabric and polyester batting together. After that, I sewed the zipper at the main fabric (both sides). I attached and sewed the lining to the main fabric, right sides together. And then, topstitched both sides of the zipper. And cut the excess zipper.  I sewed the tags and inserted them in both sides of the end of the zipper and sewed along the lines. I sewed the bias tape bands on both sides. Sewing A Travel Wardrobe : Square Neck Dress

Hi there, I went on a holiday to Singapore with my husband and son and had a fantastic time. We loved Singapore, it is such a great place to visit. The food was delicious, and also managed to visit fabric stores.
I made two new dresses (of course) using stashed fabrics and notions. Today, I'll show you the square-neck dress and another dress in a separate post.

I made three versions of the square-neck dress before, but this time I made it with puff sleeves. The pattern was self-drafted and the fabric was African printed cotton that was inside my stash for a while.

The sewing process was fast, I fused the zipper line and facings with fusible interfacing before starting to sew. It made the job easier.
I sew the zipper and the shoulder lines. Sewed the facings together and attached them to the neckline.
Gathered the sleeves, pinned and sewed them to the armholes.
Sewed the sides, sleeves hems and hemline.
The last part was top-stitching the finished facing.
The process was easy and the same as the usual manner, nothing difficult about this dress and the cotton fabric was a dream to work with.

And here are more pictures of the finished dress, I love the puff sleeves and the square neck, they are so cute and on-trend right now.

I wore the dress on our visit to Sentosa and the cotton fabric was great for hot weather. I remembered visiting Sentosa in 2009 and it was great to be back again. We had so much fun, especially at the Universal Studios 💗

Thank you for reading, have a lovely day and happy sewing.
