DIY Make-Up Zipper Pouch

Image
I made an easy make-up zipper pouch using leftover fabrics and was happy with the result. The final size was 26 cm x 12 cm. It's lovely, fluffy, useful and big enough to store all my makeup and skincare products.  Materials for the pouch: - Main fabric, lining and polyester batting, 40 cm x 50 cm. - Fabric tags (2x), 9 cm x 10 cm. - Bias tape band, 6 cm wide. - Zipper The sewing process started with topstitching (quilt style) the main fabric and polyester batting together. After that, I sewed the zipper at the main fabric (both sides). I attached and sewed the lining to the main fabric, right sides together. And then, topstitched both sides of the zipper. And cut the excess zipper.  I sewed the tags and inserted them in both sides of the end of the zipper and sewed along the lines. I sewed the bias tape bands on both sides. And cut the corners in square shape 4 cm x 4 cm (not including seam allowance). I connected the squares together and sewed them. I sewed the bias ta...

Button Down Sleeveless Top

Hi there, welcome back and happy weekend šŸŒŗ
I finished a button-down top three days ago. I planned to make this for so long and glad I finally did it.
I used Ottobre Design Maureen SS 2/2018 pattern size 40 and left-over cotton fabric from my previous garment.
The buttons, threads and interfacing were from my stash, so I didn't spend any for this top.

The processes were smooth until the collar, I didn't like it, too high for my liking.
I removed it and tried again by lowering the neckline by 1.5 cm and making a new collar.

I sewed the collar but I didn't like it. It looks weird to me. So, I removed it again and went without the collar.

I had to remove the stitching at the back yoke and the front lining.
And then pinned and sewed the lining piece around the neckline's right sides together.

I turned the lining inside and sewed the rest.
The armholes were finished with a bias tape band from the same fabric.
The button-holes and the buttons were sewed nicely.
And the last part, I sewed the hemline with blind hem stitch.

I spotted that the back pleat wasn't in the right place and I'd love to lower the back yoke 2 cm next time I make this top again.

And today is the day 11 Me Made May 2024. I'm wearing this blouse with a self-drafted skirt that I made in October last year.
I'm enjoying my weekend with my family, walking in the park, and doing things that make us happy and relaxed.

The skirt is made with cotton blend fabric, fully lined with lightweight cotton. I love it and I will make one more.
