DIY Shirt Jacket (Shacket), Burdastyle Pattern

Image
Hi there, Happy New Year and I wish you all the best in 2025 💖 Today's post is about the finished shirt jacket (shacket) I started working on in October last year. It was delayed because I was doing other things but well, I'm glad I finished it and look forward to wearing it daily. It's a simple and comfy shacket. It has low shoulders and is finished with a straight hemline. I used Burdastyle long jacket 9/2023 size 40 for the pattern and shortened the length.  For the fabric, I used cotton chino in beige from my stash. Also, the rest of the notions were from stash, yay! for not buying anything new 😍 The sewing process started in October last year. I did it in my free time, but unfortunately, I couldn't finish quickly. And then, other projects came and I put this shacket aside. As usual, I pinned and sewed the back pieces together as shown below. And then, sewed the front and back pieces together. Fused the f...

Black Lace Top

Image
the front side of black lace top Black lace top layered over undershirt is eye-catching and fabulously feminime, that's why I wanted to make this top so badly. And yes! I made it. I planned to made this top for palette-challenge-ss2012 . Not only this lovely top but I made a dress with the same fabric. I will publish my dress on later post. This top has gathered short sleeve, extended button for the waist line (this is my idea to created better waist line), and round neckline. The pattern is selfdrafted pattern by me. I used 1 yard black lace, same colour thread and black buttons. For the gathered sleeve, I just slash the basic sleeve pattern in three and added 1.5 inch. Gather with hand stitching first before use the sewing machine. black lace top, here you can see the extended button on the waist line For the neckline, I created the round neckline. I think the round neckline work best for my face:)  I used neck line facing from the same ...

I will explain to you what I did with the pattern on the below post. front side of the top back side of the top I've been reading and learning the book Built by Wendy Dresses , for this tops I used the shift dress pattern. I had to shorten the dress pattern more less right in the hip line. I created the neck line with a boatneck style. I also removed the bust dart and finished with high low hem line. Palette Challenge - Spring & Summer 2012

Image
I might be a little late to be participating on Palette Challenge - Spring & Summer 2012 , I should starting this challenge by the middle of april but only now I had time to start it. Anyway, it's better a little late than never! This Challenge is about making a mini wardrobe for the spring & summer, and make it according to your plan. I already choosed the fabric, pale pink colour, yellow colour, beige colour and batik green. Lucky me, I still have many fabric left inside my stash that I did not use. Now, my head is spinning arround! What kind of garment that I really like and will suit my everyday life????? The answer is: as usual, dresses, tops, pants and shorts.
