Refashion A Scarf Into A Tunic

Image
Hi there, welcome back 🌸 I refashioned my old scarf into a cozy tunic and love how it turned out. I planned to do this many months ago and glad I finally did it.  This tunic can be worn as a layer or as it is. It is so comfy and warm, perfect for the cooler weather we are having now.  The material of my scarf is a wool blend in a lovely print. I got it from a friend 15 years ago. The refashioning process was easy and fast, I started with making the neckline. Cut the length and use the leftover fabric for the neckband. I pinned and sewed the neckband to the neckline. And here is the look of the neckline on the wrong side. I got a little problem, the neckline was gaping and I reduced both sides by adding darts in both sides at the shoulder lines 0.50". And happy it worked, it fit nicely after adding the darts. After that, I measured 15'' from the hemline up to the armhole, pinned and sewed both sides. I...

Fabric Easter Eggs

Hi everyone,
Easter is almost here and today I finally finished my Easter eggs. They look really delicious but I can not eat them :-) I wanted to make it since the beginning of the month but time always flies - oh well that's life!
I didn't sew any garments during this past two weeks but I have time to clean up my sewing space and separate some of the fabrics that I want to sew on the next couple weeks. Beside that, I also worked on the blog, if you noticed - I changed the blog header and organized my pages tab. I think it looks nicer now :-)

Well, I am not going to bore you more with explanations.  Now I am going to show you my delicious Easter eggs,
For the materials - I used my fabric scraps from stash, polyester stuffing and threads.
For the pattern - I used free pattern and easy step by step tutorials from Retro Mama - Fabric Easter Eggs - I found this easy and quick crafts to make through Jessica's blog, she also made these cute eggs and hosting "Scrap Basket Sunday Link-Up". So, I decided to join her fun party. Please feel free to head over her blog, The Sterling Thimble if any of you are interested to join.

If you follow my facebook page, you have seen yesterday that I posted my fabrics for these Easter eggs. I did 2 eggs yesterday and continue working with it this morning. It was a very fun little project to make :-)
Here is my sewing in progress,
my fabrics scrap after cutting

sew the edges according to the instructions and turn it inside out

fill all of them with polyester stuffing, hand sew the final part and done!

That's all my quick post for today. Happy Easter to you all!
