Lace Long Sleeve Flowy Blouse

I'm finally back to writing on this blog after being busy for two months, I still sew some small items and mend a few clothes but haven't sewn new clothes.  Until two days before Valentine's arrived, I felt like I had to sew a new blouse to wear to dinner. The blouse had to be in the shade of pink, so I checked my stash and found 2 yards of lace fabric in fuchsia that I don't remember when I bought it. After I had the fabric, I started making the pattern (based on my previous self-drafted blouse pattern) I modified the pattern into a flowy blouse. The pattern was simple, a round neckline, gathered front and back yokes and gathered sleeves with elastic bands. Here is the pattern that I drafted, And after the pattern was done, I cut the fabric as usual. The sewing process was fun and turned out to be easier than I imagined. I sewed the neckline front and back yokes and then attached them to the gathered bodices as shown below. After that, I sewed the shoulder lines togeth

Sewing Plans

Hello everyone!
Today post is about March sewing plan for magam challenge, and some more sewing stuff that I want to make on the next couple days.
For magam challenge, I am going to make a dress based on Vogue 8228. Many months ago, a friend gave me four Vogue patterns and I think is time for me to give one of the pattern a try. I never worked with Vogue pattern before, so I hope I am lucky and my dress will turn out as the pattern envelope :-)
And for the fabric, I will use my strong blue linen ( the fabric suggestion is light-weight linen, so I think my fabric choice is excellent).
Speaking about the fabric, in the beginning of Magam challenge I am planning to make Burdastyle jacket with this fabric. I have done the jacket muslin but I do not like the style so much. Then I give up and I put the fabric back to stash.
I hope I will make the dress with this fabric, so there is no reason for it to go back to the stash again, ehehehe....

Two days ago, I traced my pattern - size 10 and this morning while the boy is in school, I cut the muslin. So tomorrow I will sew the muslin and make some adjustments on the waist and hips for sure. I will update my work on this blog later.

Beside sewing March garment for Magam challenge, I am also working on my Mad Men Dress - please feel free to head over Julia's Blog for more details about the challenge.

And the last thing before I say good bye for today post, I will make a tailor's ham and sleeve roll. I found the patterns and ready to make it as soon as I have free time :-)

Happy Sewing!
