DIY V-neck T-shirt Dress

Image
Hi there, I hope you are well. I had a leftover knit cotton fabric in a lovely printed pink and decided to make a simple summer dress with it. I was checking my summer wardrobe last month and it lacked t-shirt dresses and some summer tops. So, I started to sew this t-shirt dress and will continue following my plans. For the pattern, I used my self-drafted t-shirt pattern and lengthened it above my knee.  And here are the pattern pieces: - Front (on fold) 1x - Back (on fold) 1x - Neckband 57 cm long x 5 cm wide. The sewing process was easy and fast. I did it in three hours.  It started with sewing the shoulder lines together and the dress sides together using my overlocker machine. And then sewed the V-neckband piece and attached it to the neckline. I sewed around the neckline with a sewing machine first and covered the raw edge using an overlocker machine. And top-stitched the neckline 0.25 cm using a sewing machine. ...

Self-drafted Denim Skirt And Purple T-shirt

I finished the denim skirt and purple t-shirt yesterday and I'm happy that they will be a great addition to my summer wardrobe. My first plan was to make only the a-line denim skirt for my entry to Sew Your Wardrobe Basics challenge hosted by Sea Of Teal  but I decided to make a t-shirt to wear with it. For both garments, I used my self-drafted patterns and the fabrics were from my stash and leftover from my previous top. The A-line skirt pattern based on my basic skirt sloper, I followed a Youtube tutorial from Kim Dave Design  link here  and then I modified it to an A-line Skirt by adding 3.5 cm in the bottom sides of the skirt pieces and draft a new line to the hipline. I removed the darts and reduced the waistline by 2.5 cm, as shown in the picture below. This A-line skirt was easy to make and suitable for a beginner sewist, I mad...

Refashioned Garments

Image
I refashioned my two me-made dresses and rtw cardigans, the progress started in September last year, very slow sewing but in the end, I'm happy that I managed to refashion four garments in seven months 😃 Well, I have more plans for the future but I'll talk about that in another post. The progress was fun and easy, I shared each of them on  my Instagram  except the grey cardigan. So, today I decided to write more details in this blog. Printed Blue Cotton Dress. I made this printed blue dress in November 2019 using Jijaka print fabric that I bought during our trip to Singapore, I found it in the Spotlight store.   For the pattern, I used Burdastyle, hacked into a button-down dress with a v-neckline. Also, I added a final touch in the sleeves with a little vent finished with a button. I love this dress so much and wore it a lot after I finished it, but too bad I gained a few kilos and it didn't fit me. So, instead of giving this dress away, I decide...
