Midi Dress With Puff Sleeves And Front Tie

Image
Hi there, today's post is about a new dress I sewed last month. It's a midi-style dress with puff sleeves and a front tie. I made this dress to wear to a special dinner. For the pattern: I lengthened my selfdrafted v-neck dress into midi length. And for the fabric, I used a linen blend in green color. I bought the fabric in Bangkok during my summer holiday in August. The dress pattern had 6 pieces, front and back darts and I fused the facings with fusible interfacing. As usual, the sewing process was relaxing and it finished faster than I planned. front dress This dress is my second project from Burdastyle Sewing Vintage Modern Book . I used master pattern  Elizabeth Gathered-Waist Dress for the dress bodice and instead of using straight gathered-skirt that the original pattern had, I used my self-drafted semi-pleated skirt pattern. The dress has square front and back neckline, side line zipper and finished the hem with hand sew. Materials: 2 yards of Japanese cotton voile, white cotton for lining, lightweight fusible interfacing, invisible zipper and same color thread. Pattern modifications: Front bodice: I altered the front neckline a little bit deeper, I also reduced the armhole a little bit smaller than the original pattern. Back bodice: I changed the back neckline to a square style, I also reduced the armhole a little bit smaller than the original pattern. Here are the drawing of pattern modifications for the bodice front and back with measurement, And here is the full drawing of the dress,     How
