DIY V-neck Tiered Dress

Hello, I made three dresses to wear on my trip to Bangkok during the Easter holiday and this dress is the first one I made. I will share another two in the next posts.  I started working on this dress two weeks before the trip and I'm glad I managed to finish it on time, as well as my other dresses.  This dress was fun and relaxing to sew because I made one before in a midi length, so this time I shortened the length until my knee and sewed it easily. For the fabric, I used a printed rayon from my stash and white cotton lining leftover from my previous make. For the pattern, I used my self-drafted pattern. At first, I didn't want to add the lining but I had to because the fabric was a bit transparent, the lining fabric wasn't enough and I connected the pieces to make the back skirt. Polka Dot Scalloped Blouse

          I was very excited when Burda Style announced their spring favourite new pattern ( http://www.burdastyle.com/blog/spring-favorites-new-patterns-and-projects#read-on ) , especially when I saw the chanel style jacket. The jacket is cute but I fell in love with the blouse so badly, oh ...I can not take my eyes out from that blouse. Unluckily, the blouse not included in the pattern:( Well, I decided to make it myself.   Things that I need to make this blouse:   Basic bodice ( drop the front neck to draw V neck), finished with scalloped around the front neck down to the waist center front. Basic short sleeve. Make a waist tie (here I made a thin tie from the same fabric 150 cm long, it's long enough to tie around my waist and finished with a big butterfly knot). Make a waist layer (a layer that starting from the waist line down to the bottom - I think we can call it peplum) and make scalloped hem on the bottom of the blouse. This is the blouse that

Batik Top With Lace

batik top with lace Summer has arrived. Finally I feel the warm weather here in my place:) I miss summer so badly because winter here in my place is longer than I expected. I am planning to make many more summer tops, dresses and shorts. Yeah...look like I will have time for all of that:)) Well, talking about this batik top, I am wearing today for the first time ever since I made it. Here the details of my batik top: It's very simple and easy to make. Very good for the beginner. The top has short sleeve, round neckline, bustdart and lace on the hemline. Material needed for the top: 1,5 yards batik cotton, buttons and lace. I need 6 hours in total to finished this top, including making muslin and ironing. The picture below is the front side of my top. I inserted the lace on the way of my shoulder down to my chest, then I stitched the three buttons in the middle of the front top. Here is the top back, I made a tear drop style on it and finished with covered button.
